In 2025, we mark 90 years since the beginning of something remarkable – the creation of a health fund built by frontline workers, for frontline workers.
It all started in 1935, when a group of Police banded together to support each other and their families with medical costs.
Their work was unique and carried risks unlike any other – and they knew it needed insurance support that was just as unique.
From those early beginnings, that small, state-based initiative grew into what is now known as Police Health – and later, in 2017, gave rise to Emergency Services Health (ESH), created to extend the same exceptional cover to the wider emergency services community.
Today, Emergency Services Health is proud to stand on the shoulders of that 90-year legacy.
While much has changed in healthcare over the decades, our values remain the same – providing high-quality, value-for-money health insurance that genuinely puts our members first.
